The Fleio OpenStack control panel is used by GBCloud. End-users can construct and manage OpenStack cloud resources, as well as add credit (or post-pay). The powerful pricing rules allow service providers to charge services based on the cloud billing model (for example, price per GB / hour for storage, price per vCPU / minute, and so on).
OpenStack compute instances
- OpenStack compute instances can be created by end users up to the quota set by OpenStack. A fresh OpenStack project is created for each end-user. Generate, reboot, shutdown, rescue, rebuild, rename, resize, change root password, add/remove IP, add/delete security group, access web console, delete, see console log, examine CPU and network metrics, create snapshots, connect volumes are all compute instance activities available to staff and end-users. When launching an instance, users can select local storage, an existing volume, or build a new volume, as well as the volume type.
OpenStack networks
- End users and administrators can construct networks and add IPv4 and IPv6 subnets.
OpenStack security groups
- Security groups can be defined by end users and assigned to compute instances.
OpenStack DNS zones
- DNS zones can be added and edited by end users. Version 2 of the OpenStack Designate API is used in this feature. Reverse DNS can be configured for both IPv4 and IPv6 by end users.
Community images
- End users have the option of uploading their own photos.
OpenStack resource usage and pricing
- With granularity of seconds, hours, minutes, or days, Fleio measures the OpenStack computing and storage resource your clients are utilizing. Customers can view a summary of the current and prior billing cycles, as well as comprehensive consumption data. The following parameters can be used to set pricing: instance flavor, instance state, instance type, instance operating system, vCPU count, RAM, local storage space or network volume storage, availability zone, cell; image: storage, availability zone, state, etc.; volume size, availability zone, type, etc.; flat network bandwidth pricing or tiered pricing.
- The internal OpenStack message queue is used instead of the OpenStack Ceilometer project for resource use accounting.
OpenStack volumes
- End users can build volumes and specify the area, size, and kind of volume. The volume size increments can be customized, Resize, attach, and delete volumes.
- Instances can be started from volumes by end users.
- For volumes, we also offer snapshots, reverting, and backup. Users can create, change, and even rollback to a previous version of the snapshot.
OpenStack flavors and projects
- Flavors and projects can be created and edited by staff users. Flavors can be allocated to groups and their UUIDs can be kept (so that they have the same UUID even after being modified).
SSH keys
- On deployment, end-users and staff users can add SSH keys and allocate them to compute instances.
- Cloud-init injects SSH keys into compute instances during deployment.
OpenStack API users
- In their own OpenStack project, end-users can add OpenStack API users who are permitted to handle cloud resources.
OpenStack multi-region
- End-users can pick from several OpenStack regions when building cloud resources with Fleio.
Instance traffic billing support
- You can set pricing rules depending on an instance’s incoming/outgoing private and public traffic.
